Today’s post is an answer to a question I received from one of my followers on social media.
This gentleman asked if I would answer a question to do with philosophy.
So I asked what he had in mind and he said, “What is the meaning of life?”
So this is my understanding of the meaning of life.
To me, personally, I don’t believe life has any meaning.
I do have a reason for this.
If life had meaning, you would understand everything as it is.
But look at it this way, if you’re just stood or sat where you are right now, and you’re looking at this post, but you’re not reading it as such, just staring, then what meaning does your life have right now?
Absolutely none, because there’s nothing going on.
How would you place a meaning to that?
You have to have some kind of interaction to give it meaning.
You could go into a forest and just stare at a tree.
Now just imagine it’s really quiet there and there’s no movement or sound.
You’re just staring at the tree, so what’s the meaning of life there?
Nothing at all because you’re not interacting with anything.
To me the meaning of life is based on how you interact with your environment and the people around you.
That interaction gives your life meaning.
Without that, there is simply no meaning because there’s nothing happening.
Try this, when you go to sleep, what’s the meaning of life there?
There isn’t one because you’re no interacting with anything.
You have no awareness when you’re asleep so how can you give it meaning?
You can only give life meaning when you interact with it.
Try facing a blank wall, and doing absolutely nothing, then see if you can give your life any meaning.
This is my understanding of the meaning of life.
It may not be yours.
If you have a different take on this, I would genuinely love for you to comment about it below.
