HOW TO LOSE YOUR BELLY FAT
Losing weight around your mid section is often rather difficult because it seems to feel like no matter what you do, it just refuses to shift.
So what can you actually do about it?
Let’s start with the causes, shall we?
Firstly, belly fat can be caused by the obvious ‘Overeating’.
Yes I know you already know about this, but overeating leads to weight gain and stomach fat because you’re simply consuming too many calories.
Next, did you know that you could gain belly fat if your hormones are out of balance.
Specifically, we’re talking about cortisol.
This stress hormone has been linked to higher abdominal fat distribution.
Strange as it may seem, bloating is also an issue.
This is usually caused by high sodium intake and excessive carbohydrate intake.
So now, how can you get rid of your belly fat?
Increase your fibre intake.
Studies have shown that there is a direct relation between fibre intake and reduction of belly fat.
Next, you need to cut out salt and sugar.
There are many studies that show that sugar increases belly fat and causes food cravings because, it tends to give you instant stimulation and energy.
However, this stimulation drains very quickly leading to you feeling hungry.
And, I’m sure you already know, this would be very bad for your body.
Similarly, salt is just as bad.
If your average diet contains high intake of salt, it could cause stored water weight and excessive belly bloating.
If you want to reduce your bloated belly, reduce your salt intake to between 1500mg and 2000mg per day. (Correct at time of research)
Here’s a nice one. Drink green tea or coffee before working out.
Studies have shown this to help burn more calories and shows greater reduction in visceral fat.
Another one you may like. Get the right amount of sleep.
Yes this is important.
Around eight hours is good.
However, for every hour of sleep below the recommended eight hours, the chances of visceral fat increases.
Studies also show that getting only around six hours sleep a night increases the gain of visceral fat by as much as 22 per cent.
So make sure you get plenty of sleep.
